Gone but not forgotten…

I had to take a little break from blogging, life happens and sometimes ya gotta put somethings on hold.

A lot of good things have happen in the last couple months. I may or may not have mentioned I am an esthetician (I do facials and waxing) I not only see clients out of my home, but now I am also working out of a day spa and teach a couple of classes a month. Good stuff, but with change comes trying to reconfigure time management, so I have decided to start blogging weekly instead of daily.

A little catching up – I have stayed on track with my food, still at 1600 calories. This has become so much easier than I thought, once you get use to size and portions it makes like so much easier to know what to eat. I will say I have been spoiled the last year, not having a time clock to punch, I could focus on when and what to eat. Now I actually have set schedules and am learning, yet again, when to eat and how some of the snack that were satisfying before, not so much anymore. So instead of apples and peanut butter, I am looking at hummus and veggies to sustain me til lunch.

Some goals I have accomplished – Im not sure about weight loss – but I do know I have lost inches since Feb I believe I have lost a total of 4 inches, may not sound like a lot to you, but it is for me – everybody is different and I will take it! Especially considering I have slacked on the exercise department the last month. Ok I have more than slacked it was non- existent. I started back training about 2 weeks ago, sadly on my second day of training my back decided to have a spasm. Well I thought it was a spasm, instead it was a bulging disc that got irritated.(re-occurring injury) I have been down for a week, but finally it is starting to heal. Time to move forward and restart with some core strengthening.

On to the Future – I have registered for the Color Run, I am aiming to run at least half of it. Sounds like fun and what the heck, get covered in color while I run!

Off to a good start! – Lot of good food so far this year. Had fun making homemade nachos with some friends and she made some amazing cheese. If I remember correctly it had : Corn starch, Habanero cheese, Sharp cheddar and condensed milk.  the Habanero gave it just the right amount of kick!

I got a new BBQ at the beginning of May, my hubby bought me one that has both gas and charcoal. I love it! Makes it nice during the week when we want quick grilling and on the weekend when I have lots of time to wait for the charcoals to get warm.  He is the best hubby!

I look forward to the summer and the fun stuff to whip up in the kitchen!

There is nothing like sharing good food with good friends and the laughter that follows!
