Gotta love cold season, Brent called today to tell me he is now coming down with the cold that is going around. So off to the store I go and got him goodies for homemade chicken soup and fresh green juice.
I went to Trader Joe’s since I had to head that way, I have decided that it is a waste of my time, if you want to feel like you are eating healthy TJs is the place to go (I’m sure you can get a few things that are cool, but for the most part I was disappointed) anyhoo so I bought 2 bags of kale to juice since they didnt have any loose. Came home and wanted to make a pitcher of juice for Brent, I was only able to get 3/4 cup of juice out a 10oz bag of Kale. So sad, normally I can get 4 oz of juice out of less then that from Whole Foods bag of Kale – think I will stick with that.
Here are my eats for the day –
Breakfast – Smoothie- banana, mixed berries, coconut milk and Raw Protein Powder
Snack – Apple & Peanut Butter
Lunch – mixed green salad with palm and artichoke hearts and walnuts with a chiplote ranch dressing ( only 90 cals!! with salad total cals 400) dehydrated Kale
Snack – Fresh Juice Apple, Lemon and Mint – wow this was tangy and refreshing all in one! I only used 1/4 of a lemon but boy did it have some juice!!
Dinner – Homemade Chicken Mushroom soup! My second attempt at Chicken soup and it is ooo so good! Chicken, mushrooms, bow tie pasta, carrots and lots of garlic.
